Christmas week !

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY OWEN!!! I can't believe you're five. That is craziness! Hope you have a wonderful time and love all of your presents.
So hello everybody!
Can you believe Christmas is over? I can't. It was a typical, miraculous, Christmas week, though, so that's grand.
First of all, we had our wonderful Christmas zone conference/ugly Christmas sweater party. I'll include the photos from that. WE TOOK FIRST PLACE! Well, me, my companion and the elders down here. It was awesome.
Second of all, I got to see my adorable family! You guys all look so great! I love you to pieces.
Also, later on in the week I got to go on exchanges back to my old area, Maize, with my dear last companion, Sister Houston. We had a blast. Minus her having to go to the doctors and then the car getting a nail in both back tires.
Some MIRACULOUS people.
First of all, Sherry! She is progressing so beautifully! She wasn't able to come to church, unfortunately, because it was cancelled, so she has to wait a week for baptism. She is so chill and ready, though, so she was a little sad but all right with it.
Then this other amazing lady we met! We were trying the apartment of one of our less actives on Christmas and her friend, Anita was the only one home. At first she said she didn't believe in whatever it was that us Mormons believed in, but we taught her the restoration, she felt something and is now preparing for baptism as well on the sixteenth. The cool thing is is that Carol (her less active friend) is getting so excited about the gospel now that her best friend is interested. They're working together to quit smoking, come to church, etc.
It's been CRAZY and WONDERFUL and I wouldn't trade this area for anything.
I have loved this time of year. I love love LOVE the fact that more than any other time, pictures/statues/images/conversations of Christ and his miraculous birth are abounding. I was thinking the other day about the angel appearing to the shepherds - just them. No one else but humble shepherd's got to hear the angelic good news of the birth of the Savior of the world. I want to be a shepherd! Humble and willing to seek and obey whenever I am led closer to the Savior! I love Him - He's my very best friend in all the world, and I'm so grateful to serve him every day!
Love you all!

Siera at the Oklahoma City Temple!!

Hello hello family and friends :)
So it's been an incredible week here in the most beautiful heartland
in the world! First of all, Tali made eternal covenants with Jesse and
Carlos helped all his peeps make eternal covenants and Jacob and
Camilla had their eighth anniversary (holy smokes when did that
happen??) and they are for real graduates!
In other news, it was a miracle filled week here as well! First of
all, the temple. So much happiness. I walked through the front doors
and just cried ... Haha the poor temple people were so confused. They
had to guide me along because I could barely see. What a blessing!
Now some people...
Sherry ... So great. She came to a church your and said she felt so
close to the Lord. She reads the Book of Mormon every day and is
bringing her mom and friend to church. She is so excited for her
baptism on the ninth!
The Sutton family - they actually brought us to them. They clicked
accept to some church ad about a bible and so we went over and the
next day they came and took a tour of the church And felt the spirit,
and now they are all preparing for the ninth as well!!
There are lots more people here -amazing people. Winfield is the most
prepared area I've ever served in. The members in our tiny branch are
also awesome. And I'm just so happy to be here :) Sister Winsor, my
companion, is also great.
Anyway, I love you guys!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! There is no better birthday to celebrate than the
Lord's :) I hope we all think about what we can give back to Him!

GOING TO THE TEMPLE!

Hello everybody!
First of all, HAPPY WEDDING AND ETERNAL COVENANT MAKING TALI AND
JESSE!!!! I love you guys more than words can express.
Second of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTIN!!! Have fun being legal ;)
It's been a glorious week here in my beautiful Kansas! To begin
things, I'm sure you all know how important focus is on a mission. We
are expected to keep our thoughts centered on the work. That being
said, I have been SO DISTRACTED the past few days. My thoughts keep
straying to day dreaming about tomorrow ... Tomorrow .... I'M GOING TO
THE TEMPLE!!! For the first time in fourteen months. This is a huge
miraculous blessing :)
Otherwise, it's transfer week so it's been absolute craziness. I am
with Sister Winsor in Winfield and she is awesome. We have been
running around trying to find people and get to know anyone since we
are white washing in, which is also crazy.
I'm emailing from my iPad today instead of a computer, so to make up
for my lack of details, I'll just send a bunch of pictures.
Just know that I love you, this gospel is real and working and
eternal. I was heart warmed to hear about dad's experience and that
you get to go to the temple with one of your converts. How many tender
mercies we get every day!!
Love you all! I'll be EAGERLY AWAITING PICTURES OF THE WEDDING!!

The Lord doesn't give up...

So this has by far been the craziest week of my mission. I know. How many times am I going to say that? Well I really do believe you'll see that this one truly takes the cake. I'll share some quick quick things that happened.
1. My last MLC .... man I will miss that seven hour long meeting. Shocking, I know, but it's true. I love it.
2. We planned, executed and trained at two zone trainings with our two wonderful sets of zone leaders.
3. We went on two twenty four hour exchanges with a couple of our fabulous sisterships. (sister companionships. I'm making it a thing.)
4. We saw miracles and hit our goals in the last five minutes of Sunday night.
5. I hit a car. I just backed into it. President laughed at me and said, 'Don't worry about it - those things happen." then he called back and said, 'By the way, you're being released as a sister training leader. Don't worry - it doesn't have anything to do with you hitting a car."
Hahahaha :)
6. I got released as an STL and I'm going to ARK CITY with one of my favorite sisters, Sister Winsor. I am SO pumped.
Mama, feel free to disregard number five. He he.
So anyway, miracles have been ABOUNDING. Remember that one lady, June, that I told you about last week? So we went by on Wednesday night with our INCREDIBLE recent convert Cora. Cora was baptized in February and is going so strong. She found all of the "Teachings of the Presidents" manuals at a thrift store and she is reading through them cover to cover, one by one.
Anyway, she came on this team up with us to see June (the one who loves family history, has a million family members who are LDS, has original print Book of Mormons and just hasn't been baptized yet) and they hit it right off. June mentioned that with all of her exposure to the church, she had never read. Cora (who, by the way, is 68) said, "Well, this is my testimony, I guess, to you ... I KNOW this book is true. I KNOW this gospel is true. And I KNOW that when you read this, you will find out that it's true for yourself."
And then June held up the Book of Mormon and said, "Sister, if I know this Book is true, nothing is going to stop me."
AHHHH SO GOOD!!!!
Also, we saw Hattie, one of our other lovely investigators who we just had a marvelous experience with. She told us how badly she wants to be a Mormon (she's sixteen by the way) and how she just feels like she keeps failing. I told her that I had no doubt she would be baptized and she said, "Really??!!" thinking I would have given up on her by now. OH PLEASE. The Lord doesn't give up. Especially not on solids like Hattie. She thinks she's ready to be baptized super soon, so that's great. She said, "I feel like I just need to read the Book of Mormon so that I can feel the way I do when you're here all the time."
Um ... yes. Do that :) :) So good.
Anyway, that's all for today I believe. The weather has been lovely. Highs are in the sixties, so it's been just brisk enough that we know CHRISTMAS IS COMING but not too bad at all.
Anyways, love you all!
